07. Regional Planning 2011

For three years, Calgary and 14 of its neighbours in the Calgary region worked to develop a regional land use plan. In June 2009, the Calgary Metropolitan Plan was ratified by these 15 communities, fulfilling their commitment to work together to ensure the future economic sustainability of the Calgary region. The Calgary Metropolitan Plan, which supports objectives of the provincial land use framework, was submitted to the Government of Alberta for approval in July of 2009: to date, the plan has not been legislated.

Question: What is your position regarding regional planning and will you legislate the Calgary Metropolitan Plan?
