The Calgary Regional Partnership and its member municipalities adopted the Calgary Metropolitan Plan (CMP) in 2009 and submitted it to the Government of Alberta for approval. The Government of Alberta requested some amendments, and the amended CMP will be re-submitted this spring. The CMP is classified as a sub-regional plan under the Government of Alberta's land use framework, and is part of the larger South Saskatchewan Regional Plan (SSRP), which is currently being drafted. In the fall of 2011, The City of Calgary provided feedback on the development of the SSRP.
