Question: What are your plans for cancer treatment in Calgary?
We know that Calgary has needed a cancer treatment centre for a long time, and this is one of the promises that the PC government has made and broken repeatedly. Wildrose has always been committed to a public, objective priority list for all capital projects that does not get revised every year based on political calculations.
This government has allowed capital building to become expensive and politicized, and has left communities unsure of whether or not they can expect their important health or education facilities to be built.
A Wildrose government would reform the way the province handles these major projects so that they can be built in an effective and transparent manner.
We believe the single cancer facility for Calgary makes more sense than splitting it in two. But until we saw the true rationale behind the PC decision it would not be responsible to commit to that.
